Terms of Service

Last updated 15 September 2026.

Who we are

Slapdown is made by an independent developer, a family, not a studio, in memory of someone we loved. We built it in good humour and in good faith, to be played with people you like, and never with the intent to offend or harm anyone.

What you are agreeing to

By downloading, installing or playing Slapdown (the Beta or any later version) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

The game is provided "as is"

Slapdown is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. We make no promise about its quality, performance, stability, compatibility with your computer or devices, availability of online features, or that it is free of errors. Beta software in particular may crash, lose saves, or change between versions.

Humour and content

The game is a comedy. Its characters throw flip-flops at each other, shout one-liners, and get up to nonsense. Some jokes, words, sounds or situations may not be to everyone's taste. Everything in it was made in a spirit of fun and without any plan to hurt, mock or target anyone. If something in the game offends you, we are sorry, and we ask you to stop playing rather than continue.

Your responsibility

Playing Slapdown is your own choice and your sole responsibility. You are responsible for deciding whether the game is suitable for you and for anyone you let play it (including children), for the people you invite into an online room, and for how you use your computer while playing. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury, offence, or inconvenience arising from the game or from your use of it, including anything said or done by other players in an online room.

Online play

Online rooms are private and joined by a code you share. We do not run chat and we do not moderate rooms. Player names are chosen by players; we are not responsible for them. Anonymous play statistics may be sent to us to help improve the game; you can turn this off in the game's settings.

Price and changes

The Beta is offered while we develop the game. We may change, suspend or stop the game or any part of it, and we may change these terms, at any time. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.

Ownership and licences

The game, its art, code and characters belong to us. Music and sound effects are by their makers, used under Creative Commons licences and credited inside the game. You may play the game and share videos and screenshots of it; you may not sell it, repackage it, or present it as your own.
